These linen work trousers were produced around the 1930s.
The buttons are made from rare and highly prized animal bone, while the buckle back at the
rear, used for waist adjustment, stands as a hallmark detail of early workwear styles.
We have preserved the signature details of these classic French work trousers while refining
the silhouette, adjusting the leg width and removing the outseam panel construction,
replacing it with two pleats at the top and bottom for a cleaner, more balanced look. The
original buckle back design has been retained at the rear, now fitted with a
custom-developed solid silver buckle.
The button fly construction is also preserved, featuring ceramic buttons developed in
collaboration with Dihua Ceramic Studio and finished with our exclusive metallic glaze, and a
single 925 sterling silver button is integrated into the set as a signature symbol of PAL.
The outer fabric is made from 100% linen, offering a richly layered weave and a hand feel
that is structured yet comfortable due to the nature of the material. The lining is crafted from
100% cotton fabric that has undergone post-treatment for added comfort and durability.
ABOUT FABRIC
This is a 3/1 herringbone weave fabric, utilizing 14/1 linen for the warp
and 33/1 linen for the weft.
Due to the increased number of weft floats, the yarns tend to break
during the beating-up process. This characteristic creates a unique
surface effect that resembles a dobby pattern. Additionally, a washer
finish is applied to give the fabric a natural, wrinkled texture.
