This sweatshirt is inspired by a piece from approximately the 1950s, featuring a beautifully
faded patina throughout the original garment.
Retaining the classic raglan sleeve construction, we utilized a 100% cotton knit fabric. The
material undergoes a hand-dyeing process to achieve an irregular grey tone, echoing the
natural fading effects of the vintage original.
In addition to the standard edition, we have also created a special distressed version,
meticulously recreating the specific wear and damage locations found on the original piece.
ABOUT FABRIC
This is a loopwheel single jersey fabric knitted by aligning two strands of
14/1 dry cotton yarn.
The surface of the dry cotton yarn is strongly twisted, which gives the
fabric a distinctive crisp and dry texture.
The loopwheel machine, which is the predecessor to modern circular
knitting machines, operates slowly using a single yarn feeder. This
process allows the fabric to be tightly compacted without placing any
unnecessary tension on the yarn. Additionally, the fabric is dyed using a
Sumi (Japanese ink) dyeing process, which is characterized by a
naturally uneven, mottled appearance.
You can enjoy its beautiful aging process as the color gradually fades
over time with wear and washing.
